This would be for the future, but as you guys start making money I would look into offering dedicated servers.

I've seen some hosting companies that offer different levels of dedicated servers such as 50 users per server, and levels of 30, 20, and 10.

If some of your clients begin to rapdily grow, since we all love this host you'd think they'd want to stick with you.

We are already making good money ;)
You have read our minds as we will be introducing our new packages shortly. The accounts listed above are semi-dedicated servers not dedicated servers.

Stay tuned.

Yes, I know they are "semi" but you got my drift ;) If I ever got enough traffic to need a server to myself, I'd co-locate one.

I'm sure if a customer needs a dedicated server we can get them one and manage it for them.

If a client wants their own dedicated server, we would be more than happy to arrange for that.

I would like to know prices for a small dedicated server. Just enough to run one domain with 2 x 10GB HDs, 512MB RAM, 1200mhz CPU and the 20GB of bandwidth. But this would need to be fully managed like a normal account.

What kind of set up and monthly price range would this be. I would also want this at HE and not NAC or the others.

Just thinking about the future.

Thanks

Pete

Pete, do you want root on that server, because with that amount of bandwidth you would be better off with one of our semi-dedicated packages. Also, now they make hard drives bigger than 10gb but I will check with our supplier to see what price they can give us in any event.

Hi Steven,

I wouldn't want a semi dedicated as the reason for the ded is for added security to avoid the problems of PHP on a shared server as well as a ded removing any potential problems of someone else eating the CPU or Memory.

If there are no 10GB HDs then the smallest option will be fine for an approximate quote. Please don't go to too much trouble though as this will be something for the future and not even guaranteed yet.

BTW, how much would PHP, Apache and MySQL upgrades be as well as Linux security patches and all the other nightmares that go with a dedicated server?

Thanks

Pete

Are you thinking of RAID 0 with those two 10 gig drives for added speed? Or being the system drive, and the other being where all files are stored?
