Do all accounts have anonymous ftp?
I have a Virtaul 5000 plan, that states that I have 1 ftp account.
Does that include an anonymous ftp account and my MAIN ftp account, or do I just have a MAIN ftp account.

Hi Eric,
No anonymous FTP on our accounts. We like to know who is logging in and out of our servers.

Steve,
How do I change my pw on my ftp account?
And if we don't have anonymous ftp what are the ftp management controls that are labeled:
anonymous ftp controls
anonlymous ftp message
under ftp managment in the cpanel?

If you are talking about your main ftp account, we will need to change your main password for accessing cpanel, as the two are the same.
As far as those messages, we had them taken out initially, but since we update the skins frequently, modifying 4 themes on each of our 13 servers is a tedious job. Our clients know anon ftp is disabled as well.

Thats what I thought.
I changed my main pw(cpanel), but my ftp account pw didn't change. I was able to use my old ftp pw for over an hour after I changed it.
That was confusing.
But now they are in-sync.
thanks

What about the option in CPanel to create FTP login ID's? Are those disabled also?
I've never been able to make them work, but since I never actually use it, I never got around to submitting a support ticket.

When logging into ftp for our server you have to use the following:
ftp address: (your ftp address)
ftp username: ftpuser@domain.com
password: password

I want a client's employee to update pages in their site. They need the same access as the main account user ID/PW. I want to delete the accout access should the need arise. Creating a new FTP account doesn't seem to accomplish this.
Thanks,
Rob

The only way to do this would be to give your client's employee the login information to everything. Then if you ever need to lock them out, you can simply login to your Webhost Manager and change the password ;)
