I know the weekends are a slower time for people, many have off, so what do you do to occupy your time?

Fortunately, we have a 24/7/365 job and we don't know what time off is.

Let's see.....I have three little girls and a lovely wife....depending on what is going on with them.....I am either spending time with them or on the computer...............and after 9pm........the mistress...erm, I mean "computer" is where I am.......

I would rather have a whisky or two at home and be on the PC than be out shloshing it up with friends......I get into less trouble this way............

Oh yeah....and the monthly LAN party......multiplayer gaming with 50+ people..........this next saturday, there will be about 100 people so that'll be fun.

I work on weekends. In fact, I'm out the door in a few minutes after typing this. Lately I have not had to work any weekdays at all, but I expect that to change soon.

I never "hang out" with friends. This is either because I'm not oriented around friends, and I don't find it to be "fun" or "cool" to sit around and talk about, well, nothing.

Sleep past 6:15 a.m., do laundry, watch movies, play with graphics.

Work on the house.

My girlfriend and I inherited a house from her grandma, but we need to work on it before we can move in.

New electrics.
New plumbing.
New central heating.
New plastering
Two new floors, and a bit of work on the roof.

Basically we have gutted the place, and are begining to start putting it back together.

Wow, Mort, sounds like a good job though! ;) We have an older house, built in the 20's that could use some of that work done as well. We rent, so we are limited to what we can do though!

It's fun at times, but a lot of work.

Rewiring does mean that I get to put in a nice clean seperate ringmain for my PC's to go on though:D
Not sure what the people who live their after us will make of the bank of sockets.

Well...this summer I have been either taking a ride down to Jersey to visit with family and swim in their pool :) or hanging out up here riding my bike. I did take a great trip to Burlington, VT last weekend though...it was great! I biked about 30 miles round trip up and own the coast of Lake Champlain on a OUTRAGEOUSLY gorgeous day!

Other than that I sit here at the PC and work on my websites, watch a few movies, and catch up on email since most of my friends live several hours away.

However, now that the semester starts in just 10 days I won't know what time off is like either :( Though I'm hoping to get a few folks together to do some sight seeing in Boston.

Hey Mort...sounds like you've got your work cut out for ya! It will be a nice feeling when its all done though :)

(Belated) My weekend was spent trying to repair my laptop. It seems the LCD died (this would be the second time in less than two months) and it took my operating system with it.

Unfortunately, my two day weekend of reinstalls was unsuccessful, and I'm still searching for a (used, mind you - new LCDs are outrageously priced) LCD replacement.

I'm hoping this upcoming weekend is more enjoyable.

Feh... I had a laptop with a messed up LCD display screen. I got it to work by messing around with the wires that connected it with the rest of the system, but there were lines and discoloration on the bottom half of the screen. Not to mention that it didn't have a hard drive, but the point is that I got the LCD screen to work when it didn't work.

I'd just buy a new one given that the screen is the most expensive part. That's just me though. I'm also the type of person that would say, "FORMAT IT!" when someone says "wats wrong with me computar???"

I would buy a new LCD, however, the laptop is used, so I'd end of paying $300 dollars for the LCD, which is probably close to what the laptop was.

Plus, I think it might be the inverter board, which is in most cases only $25 dollars to replace. ;)
