Has anyone had a problem with your whole domain not being able to load temporarily while running invision board?

So far I've tried installing XMB and invision board and my experience using them so far is that for XMB, it takes a long time to load attached picture... even though this was a very small picture... it would take a while to load it...

As for invision board... I was pretty much satisfied with it because it looks pretty nice on Netscape browser as it does on IE.. and I liked the fact that it loads attached picture faster... but the problem I had with it is that, I'm not sure if this was just a coincidence, or whether the server was temporarily down (insiderhosting.com was up at the same time, though...) at the time I was running Invision board, but my domain server was totally slowing down while I was refreshing the board... and for a while, even the index page of my domain (which has a very small size picture on it) won't load..

I'm wondering... Does phpBB ever slow the server down? Has anybody uploaded a picture? If you have, does it load quickly?

I'm thinking about turning to Phorum which someone kindly recommended.. cuz I really don't need all these extra features anyways...

Any feedback on which message boards to go for will be appreciated... I've read a post on similar topic by the way...

Insiderhosting is on its own box I believe so if your server is having issues there is no point in checking insiderhosting.com as its a different server.

You may have been unlucky enough to run into network problems or server load spikes. PHPBB and Invision shouldn't cause any problems.

It often helps to run a tracert and upload sysinfo to check load (although server load on its own isn't always accurate as CPU idle time determines server performance).

If you have a link to your board then please post it and I'll take a look, I'm sure others will too.

Phorum is a very good board, lightweight and easy to modify, but you should be able to run PHPBB or Invision without any problems (unless you have loads of concurrent users).
