As a token of our appreciation to our clients, we are always searching for new ways to enhance our services. Well we think that we have found another way to enhance our services even further.
We are going to play a game/ hold a contest which will start at midnight tonight PST and will conclude on Fri 12:00 am PST. We are installing some "special features" on your accounts and the person(s) who figures out what we added will get a special treat or two. There are 2 Very big things/answers that we are looking for. There can be multiple winners, as there can be one person that figures out one thing and another with another thing.
There are also 17 smaller things/enhancements that were added as well. If you are the first one to point out one of the 2 big things that we are looking for then you will receive a prize of 5gb extra BW per month for the life of your hosting with us. For the 17 smaller things you will get an additional 50mb of space or an additional 500mb of bandwidth (your choice).
In order to win the contest, you need to be the first one to point out any of the new enhancements. You will need to post a reply to this thread. I will give you a big hint in the next few hours about where to look.
Good Luck

You are too funny. I have editted the commence word to conclude. I'll blame it on my medication. :)

Good guesses Mort, but I can't say yes or no since this contest starts in approximately 1 hour.
Here is a hint to everyone:
multiple domain clients and resellers should figure this out first.
I am locking this thread for the next hour and will open it up at 12:00 am PST.

1) Link to forums on homepage.

3a) SSL Certificate for porsche.elinuxservers.com
4) Quota Modification
I am sure I saw a new theme called erm 'newpanel'
But it's not there now

My guess for one of the big new features is that IH has upgraded CPanel to build 57. CPanel with build over #50 has, finally, support for IMAP mail :-)
I've just installed Squirrel mail on my account, which requires IMAP, and MAN does it rock!

New Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil now with 30% more baby!
I did find some things.
On the basic CP, under system info. there is now: Path to Perl and Path to Send Mail. *THANK YOU totally for this!!*
Also I noticed there is a bandwidth and error log in the Stats section. Of course these things could have been there for ages, I am just noticing them?
Choices of the Error Pages. Wonderful, yay!! :)
And the submit to a search engine!! :D
On the reseller WHM I saw:
Where you can now do DNS Functions, Add Packages, Skeleton Directory, Quota Modification and Password Modification.
Since I haven't played in there yet, these could be wrong, but I know that some are new.
:) Thank you for all the upgrades and additions!!!

Very good, well there is one more of the BIG enhancements that no one has figured out yet, so that 5gb is still up for grabs.

Steven,
Am I missing something here as nothing has changed on my CPanel or WHM. If there are new features available can I suggest that you just tell people where and what they are rather than making people hunt for them.
Thanks
Pete

Peter,
Look in your WHM for a new theme called newpanel that is a big hint. The reason why we decided to release the information this way was to get our clients more acclamated to our software. (there is always a reason to do things). At 12:00 am Friday morning, I will post a full review of what was added.

Hi Steven,
I did see that and saw it mentioned here, but to look at the newpanel theme I will have to create a package with it, then set up a dummy domain just to view the features. Somewhat a time wasting exercise when it would have been better IMHO if you had put up a demo for us to look at.
I'm currently working 18 hours a day to get a project completed and really don't have time to play 'hunt the features'. That isn't meant to sound ungrateful for whatever features you have added for us but I really dont have the time to join in the fun... maybe all this coffee and PHP is turning me into a grumpy old ****** ..lol.

Looking forward to midnight... :)
Thanks, O' generous one...

nice, in newpanel, a whole bunch more scripts:
Agora Cart
XMB Bulletin Board
phpMyChat
CGI Wrapper
Clock
Counter
Countdown
FormMail Clone
Setup EntropySearch
Rebuild EntropySearch
EntropyBanner
there is a billing manager..., and a whole bunch of auto-install things, as mentioned above. the redirect thing is on there too, but it was missing from my previous cpanel..
there is a link to the help desk... some other little things...
and it looks a ton nicer than the other :)
some more stuff, an ftp welcome message, I will have to fool around with that, it looks nice!... it also has a link to the server status, i dont think that was on the other one.

Peter,
We will put up a demo momentarily, you are grumpy.
Everyone else,
You guys are really good, but let me give you a hint for the big enhancement that we are looking for. It has to do with SSL.
Figure out the rest.
-Steven
Well, I'm one of those who couldn't be up at 3am to post anything...but also didn't see much either.
im2ez....where is "modify account" in WHM that you are finding the new cpanel theme?
My Cpanel also shows build 42, so is it only changed on some domains so far? I'd love to have IMAP supported as I just set up a domain for email only and a friend/colleague of mine will be using an email address there too.
--Eric
PS I did notice that in cpanel for my main account there use to be a link for billing and support and that's no longer there....but that's about it so far for this untrained eye :)

New feature on WHM?
SSL/TLS
Generate an SSL Certifcate and Signing Request
Install an SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain

EDITED: AND/OR: you're offering shared SSL now... ?

I dont have that feature... :(
Steven
08-15-2002, 12:19 PM
No one should have that feature, as we don't allow our multiple domain clients nor our resellers this functionality.

so that leaves "shared ssl"... ?

Perhaps the SSL costs less. Just a wild guess. But I think it's the same.

The SSL is now showing elinuxservers instead of insiderhosting? Could be?
