I currently have several domains hosted with a horrible hosting company that I am finally ready to leave. I am considering Insider Hosting, but need a few questions answered first. FYI, I would sign up for the corporate account.

1. If I sign up for a multiple domain account, do I then have POP email for all domains hosted on that account?

2. Most of my sites are in one way or another powered by Movable Type (http://www.movabletype.org), do your hosting packages meet these requirements?

Core requirements:

An account on a webserver that allows you to run custom CGI scripts.

Perl, version 5.004_04 or greater, installed on this webserver.

An FTP program to upload the necessary files to your webserver.

Javascript and cookies enabled in your browser.

Support for the DB_File Perl module OR MySQL & DBD::mysql

And, the following Perl Modules:

HTML::Template
Image::Size
File::Spec
DB_File
DBD::mysql
CGI::Cookie
LWP::UserAgent
SOAP::Lite
File::Temp
Image::Magick

If this options are available, I'm as good as signed up. If not are these options in the future for Insider Hosting?

Thank you for your time.

Hi Dawn,
Thanks for you interest in our packages. Yes we have many clients using the MT script that you are talking about, and it is running flawlessly.

I believe that we have all the modules listed above installed and you can verify this by visiting www.insiderhosting.com/cgi-bin/perldiver/perldiver.cgi

We hope to bring you on

Thanks Steven!

That helps a bunch, but what about question #1?

All packages that you buy and then create later on are all POP and SMPT enabled.

Dawn,
Yes each account will have their own e-mail accounts, control panel, databases, etc...

Thank you. I just ordered a hosting package and I'm so excited to get set up in my new home.

I'm glad you are moving, Dawn! :) I was with your current host for almost a year and I finally got tired of having my site down for days on end. Over Christmas last year, all our domains were down for 7 days straight! Unacceptable to me. No tickets were answered about it even. Nothing was posted on the forum board either as it is basically run for the customers, not the staff as well.

Insider Hosting, has excellent client support and the fact that Steven posted on the News Board this morning about the server being down is something that I have never seen by another host. We have been with 5 over the years. I also had an email in my box this morning as our new reseller account is on the machine that crashed. It was sent at 5:48 a.m. which is way too early for anyone to have problems with a computer, much less notify all the clients about it!

You will totally be happy here, I know you will. :) I have had no problems with installation or running of MT.

:)
