hello you all.

came here from PWH and so far i like the service.

i have a few questiions for any who may answer:

i've recently bought a domain for my buddy and have offered him some space on my bandwidth/hosting. i set up an FTP account for him so he can work on it himself but i found out that he can edit the files on my other domains if he wanted. matter of fact unless you put /public_html/sitename/ after his URL while FTPing he will be editing my main files rather than his.

what ftp address should i give "third-parties" or customers?

i do not want to take a chance of someone accidently or maliciousy editing my files.

also, if i set up email accounts for others what address should i give them to read their mail? the same one within c-panel that i use?

perhaps this should be in the multiple domain forum but i don't have access :(

thanks for your time.

You could give him access to any directory in your home directory?
When I try choosing add ftp account I see:
Login: text field
Password: text field
Directory: /home/username/public_html text field
And in text field you insert the sitename
If I am not mistaken that is the only directory he will have access to, unless he makes subdirs.

I tried making an ftp account now,
and I didn't have access to any other dirs.

I think you don't give them webmail access.
Have you tried:
yourdomain.com/sqmail
That should work. ;)
I tried it myself now and you get a login screen for squirrelmail. ;)

When you setup an FTP account, you are locked into only that directory if you login with that FTP username. I don't know why he was saying that he could edit your files.
