Hello folks,
OK, here 'tis. I have the basic reseller package.
Since I am kinda gnu at this:
1) I uploaded my index.htm page to my defaualt space, then looked around and couldn't see it anywhere. I looked in every folder,( even though I suppose it would go in the public_www, or is it public_html? Either way.) I'm also assuming lots of things that may not be correct, so is my space for my home site actually ready for me to just jump in there, or is THAT the first package I have to create? Again assuming, since I was told how much space and bw I had to start with for my main site, I didn't think I would need to. OK, I could go on and on like this, so I'll assume you know what I mean.:-)
2)How is a "subdomain" typically used? It almost seems like a 'sidecar' sort of domain to a regular domain. Am I close?
3) When I'm about to log in, it says something about Certs not matching, and do I want to go ahead anyway? Just wondering if thats something that is telling me "you should now start to worry."
Well, that's it for the moment. Got other questions on the tip of my toungue, though.
Thanks much!

Adam,
You need to upload all your files into your public_html directory. You will then be able to view all your files. I see that you uploaded the index.htm file to /home/username. You need to upload it to /home/username/public_html (replace username with the username we sent you in the welcome email. Once you receive your welcome emails, your account is setup and waiting for you to upload.

A subdomain is something like sub.domain.com . For example, forums.insiderhosting.com (forums is the subdomain)

3) When I'm about to log in, it says something about Certs not matching, and do I want to go ahead anyway? Just wondering if thats something that is telling me "you should now start to worry."

That is correct in that you will see a popup message
about the certificate. The reason is because we ask you to login trough a secure url to your control panel because you are transmitting sensitive data (your username and password). The control panel by default does not want you to login via the secure url, it wants you to login via an insecure one http//www.yourdomain.com:2082 .

The control panel generates its own secure certificate and it won't let us use our secure cert, so that is why you are seeing that popup. We believe that although it is somewhat of an annoyance, in the end it is much more secure.

That was pretty fast Steven, Thanks! That subdomain thing has always baffled me, and that is the only answer anyone's given me that made sense.:wow
