Hey Steven,
you say this the upgrades are based on the ones on the front page of insiderhosting. Does that include those whose plans are a little bit different from when you bought out other companies?
Cheers,
Steven

Depends, if you put in a helpdesk ticket we'll answer it and let you know what's up :)

Great performance, reliability, space and bandwidth!

Yeaaa! This is so fabulous. Totally made my day when I read that.
Quick question - does anybody know how, in WHM, to check how much space you have left? I've tried updating some of my quotas and it doesn't seem like I have any more space than before.
Thanks! Whoohoo!

Here too. It doesn't allow any quota changes at the moment.
Same here. And I submitted a ticket, but haven't heard any response yet.

Very odd.
No response from "billing" about this. Tech support was very responsive, but then forwarded this to "billing", with no word.
Here too. This isn't like Insider at all. I'm reall disappointed. And the board is being overrun with spambots - what's up with that???

I mentioned the forum spam last week and it's still going on. I submitted a ticket and got a reply, too.
Regarding the upgrades, I'm still waiting.

Still no word about the upgrades in relation to my ticket either. Sooooo unlike Insider. I'm sad!

I finally received feedback on my ticket this morning, and Steve was very friendly about it. :D

Well, one month later and still no upgrades. Apparently all that is required is a script to update the servers, but yet the wait continues.

Is there something I need to do to implement the extra bandwidth and disc space? I haven't seen any changes when I check my webhost manager.
Thanks :)

Same here, no changes.....and it *IS* unlike Steven to not be this suportive of his site/forum.....although I've benefited from some very personalize service......the support that people valued in IH, has declined rapidly over the last 12 months.....
After submitting numerous tickets, I finally heard from Steven, a week later, who told me that I'd have my upgrades last Thursday (the 13th). I openned a new support ticket, and the person helping me had no idea what I was talking about - I had to refer him to Steven's original thread and this thread. :headdesk: My ticket was escalated to Steven, but I've not heard anything back yet.
But yeah, over the last 12 months ... :sigh: I'm really disappointed.

It gets even worse if you decide that you no longer need/want your website and want to cancel your account here. Help tickets are ignored and your c.c. will still be charged after you've requested cancellation. Nobody answers the phones, either. IH has turned into one of "those other" nightmare web hosts that you hear or read about.

Almost ten days and running just to get two domains renewed.
I have all the login info for the domains, is there any way to get them out from IH registrar without having to go through IH? Because I doubt they are going to do anything about it, they aren't answering my tickets...
I just want to get my domains and take them somewhere else.

I had been with IM since almost their beginning. I cancelled my personal hosting 2-3 months ago because I just didn't have time to mess with my site anymore.
I come back on here from time to time to see what's going on and I am amazed at the spam on the foums and that it just appears to have gone dead. What is UP?
I was always, always happy with IH. I recommended them to everyone that ever asked and even when they didn't. I guess I should count myself lucky that I canceled right before all of this started.

I've been watching my WHM and control panels and have not seen an increase in space. The extra disk space would be nice but right now I'm only 'hosting a few small/low volume sites here so it's not critical.
I personally have not had any issues to contact support over but I'm concerned about what I've observed in these forums in the recent past: Complaints about service response times and the spammers run amok.
Unfortunately, I was not able to recommend IH to a client who recently needed to switch hosts because of this, particularly because the client may need a little support hand-holding and I wanted to make sure the host would back up my own availability with some immediacy.
It would be nice if there were a regular IH presence in these forums for reassurance and spam control. Lacking this basic support visibility is somewhat foreboding and raises concerns about the ability for IH to be a going concern to both the longtime, involved clients and those stopping by to evaluate IH.
Steven, let's have some idea from you about what's going on, please. We don't need detail, just reassurance.

I got a reply to my help ticket on the 15th of July telling me they were forwarding it all to sales and they would contact me, but no response so far.
What I'm reading further down the thread is making me a little nervous. The last thing I want to do it have to change hosts, so I'm hoping this is just a temporary phase.

I personally have nothing to complain about supportwise, as my tickets are always answered and dealt with quickly. I do have a server so I am not sure whether this makes a difference to the level of support. And if I ever have had something really pressing I will get in contact with Steve on messenger.
So I don't know what is really going on here. I just know that the level of support I personally receive with Insider is something I would speak highly of.

All tickets support wise are answered asap by our guys, unfortunately the script we wrote to do the upgrades isn't 100% working properly and I do apologize for that. IT will be done in a few more days, then you all can enjoy the FREE upgrades. Just be patient.
To everyone who said support declined, I sincereley doubt it, because I check our average ticket response times to support (not billing or sales) and I see an average of 10 minutes 24/7, so not sure how you can say that, and it surprises me greatly. We give everyone 100% uptime, so also you may want to note that before throwing me over the coals over these FREE upgrades.

I've been sharing a virtual hosting account with my brother for about 4 years I think. I recently started my own account. I've used the help desk many, many times. As a beginner in becoming familiar with CPanel and then later with tools in WHM, as well as other somewhat pressing issues, I've had nothing but good response times from the 'support' desk.
I don't know what kind of accounts some of the posters of this thread have, and my experience may not compare to theirs. I did notice, as another poster did, that the forum activity has dropped in the last year or so.
I always search the forums for possible answers to an issue before I submit a ticket. So lately, I find relevant posts that are very old. I draw several likely scenarios.
1. Many account holders are happy with the status of everything and doing business with their clients and don't have time to get involved in the forums.
2. The experienced forum posters have succumbed to life's other challenges and dropped their accounts or let their attention dwindle.
3. Everyone is an expert with the myriad details and workings of virtual hosting, PHP scripting, MySQL, and javscript except me.
Oh, I almost forgot one. I may be the only one left on the planet. Planet IH that is.
btw. I'm still a beginner in my view.

Rob

Honestly with most other hosts I would say that a stagnant support forum was probably a bad sign, but at IH I think it probably has more to do with everyone being pretty satisfied. Most hosts aren't going to make themselves available via instant messenger, 25/8, like Steven.

One thing to note, is that when things run well, people are quiet, it's when they don't run well that you have a forum that is buzzing with people wanting to know what is up. Also, IH caters a lot to quality resellers and higher end clients, who don't have that much time to check the forum, since they are busy with their respective companies. We still have 95% of our clients from 5 years ago, so that's always a good sign :)

I remember best the times when I needed to learn something new, I would come to the forum and find an answer.
I'd like more of that, but I know everyone is busy like me, plus there are a lot other forums now on the net just for help in specific areas. Still sometimes there are 'interests', not problems really that relate only to virtual hosting here at IH.
Regards everyone,
Rob

I would agree with Steven's comment "When things are going well ....". Whenever I have logged a support ticket, it has been answered and resolved within the day.
I have no reason to complain but can certainly give thanks for the reliabilty and consistent up time.
Cheers,
Steven

Steve rules and the rest drool over the success IH has. They went from some backward running server farm in Texas to a state of the art DC that gets things done. After four years I'm still here because things keep working. We don't have any downtime... dedicated is the way to go. Thanks Steve and all the IH crew for all your hard work and dedicational service you have giving us over the last four years. With-out you... we wouldn't have a business. Have a great week-end. =)

So far, it also looks as if the recent forum upgrade may be helping stop the recent spamming that's been happening........**crosses fingers**
