Banner Exchange?

This is not another one of those "fake threads" where I make a joke which no one else understands.

I was thinking, since we, for the most part, all have our own web sites here, why not start up an inter-hosting banner exchange type of thing? We all have the capabilities to do it, so why not?

I propose that if we start one up, that the banner doesn't have to be displayed on the first fold of the page, but instead anywhere you choose to allow for more freedom.

Anyone else here with me? I think it could be benificial to most of us if we all do it.

i am all for it, except for the fact that i am graphically impared and lack the necessary skills to create a banner worth trading. in fact my new site design (if i ever finish) will have a powered by section with MT and IH listed on every page. i try to give credit were credit is due. :guess

I'm pretty graphically challenged too. But I wouldn't mind having an InsiderHosting banner to squeeze in between my MT and TopStyle banners. Perhaps they are already available and I just need to go searching around insiderhosting.com? Why don't I just shut up and go see. Ok, talk to you later.

I was thinking more along the lines of the sites that are hosted on the Insider Hosting servers to have one "large" banner exchange, not the IH site itself. But that too, would be a good idea. You can find a bunch of IH banners here:

To be honest I'm not really sure exactly what a banner exchange is. What you're describing almost sounds more like a webring.

Thanks for the link to the banners. Since I'm not too keen on animated buttons/banners I went ahead and copied the .gif that's at the top of the forum pages and just turned it into a button link. (Let me know if that's not OK Steven.)

What I did with the hosting site was post a link to some of the sites that wanted to be listed, hosted on our server.

If Insider Hosting wants to do a reciprocal link exchange, I would do that.

I agree with Aaron though, sounds more like a webring. I did that on www.blogland.com where I have all the hostees in a webring.
