I'm about to reinstall winblows and am thinking of dual booting something... I was thinking CentOS to get back into Linux, but I also downloaded FC4... Anyone have any opinions on either? I was a bit disapointed in FC3 when it crashed horribly after updating a somewhat new install. So I am hesitant to make any effort in installing it, but I have always liked Redhat...

Gentoo :D

But if you do only want to choose from one of the two listed ( :( ), I haven't heard of many problems with CentOS. God knows I heard of the Fedora "kills your dual booting system" syndrome far more times than I wanted too...

Yoohoo! Yeah I was thinking CentOS because of the general reviews it is getting. There is one though that caught my attention:

But I think I'll stick to the RedHat brand as its more common as webservers. My favorite is FreeBSD, but its better as a server (in my opinion) without a gui. Its about as easy to set up and maintain as can be. I was running FreeBSD 5.4 as a desktop for a while, but there were a few hardware issues, with sound and video, that I got tired of trying to fix. That is the only thing about Linux I do like is its hardware support, oh and Java is setup easier. BSD licensing is too lenient for Java, so it can be a pain to get setup. So I guess its CentOS then =D
