Just wonders here.
Are you running raid on this server?
Did a whole array go out?
Steven

This server actually is one of the older dual xeons not in a raid array. We're quickly going to change that after we get everything back online.

No data loss! Woohoo!
That had me worried because I've been slack on the backups lately.

cool!
Thanks for all the hard work man.
I know how tedious, and time consuming that data-recovery process can be.

Once I wake up, I'll post the grizzy details. This was one of the most time consuming and hardest data recovery projects I've worked on in a long time.

Thanks for all the hard work you did to get this back up. All-nighters suck...well work all-nighters suck.
Anyway, I have a couple of people screaming about getting an estimate to when their sites will be back up. Is there any chance you can give me one to pass on?
Thanks!

Hi Strapper,
Sites are becoming available as we speak. We're moving data to new drive off the old one and then sites are coming back online. Our admins say 3 hours or so more and all sites and everything will be back 100% normal.

Thanks for the estimate! I have already passed it on.
By the way, the forum with the updates throughout the night was/is incredibly helpful. The last host I had would go down and you were completely in the dark as to how or why and when it would return. Just another reason I'm glad I'm with Insider Hosting.
Thanks again,

When was you all started using that online backup thing ...3-6 months ago?
I know it's a jewel right about now.
I had a private message on my forum that I was afraid
was going to be lost before the recipient got it.
I couldn't remember what all I said in it, but MAN, it was all there. :hail smilie:

Is there any idea when the web mail will be working? My sites are up and look fine but the squirrel mail is still down. Unfortunately that's what most people worry about.
Thanks and sorry for bugging again. I'm sure you got plenty going on.

I don't know about squirrel mail.
I use neo-mail and imap.
The neomail is pulling up for me doing a direct link, but
all the cpanels are still down.
I think the mail will come through from someone, it's
just a matter of when you can access it.

I'm trying to access my squirrel mail using the domain/sqmail/ like I always do and that's not connecting. Is that what you meant by direct connecting? At this point I need to be able to tell people how to get to their email or give an idea of when they can access it or if I need them to switch to neomail or something.
Thanks for the help I really appreciate it!!

Like I said, I don't know if there is a way to get to squirrel or not at this time.
Neomail will have identical mailings though.
You can get to it like...shomething like this..

Since the crash of things wednesday night squirrel mail is not working for me or any of my customers.
I have people screaming at me that they need access to information there and the ability to email.
Does anyone know if there is some way to get people back into squirrel mail? I tried domain/sqmail/ -- domain:2096 ----domain:2083 (marble on another forum suggested this) I tried through the cpanel, I put in a help ticket last night around 11pm but haven't gotten anything back. Basically nothing is working. Can anyone help? I'm sick of getting yelled at by people who I host to.

I'm still getting the same error on squirrel mail too and it's now Monday the 30th. I moved my customers to neomail for the moment but it didn't populate their address books and they all are anxious to move back. Is there any possibility that squirrel mail will be back soon I wonder?

Anyone else still seeing problems?
Steven

Everything is fixed data wise on the server, the only thing that isn't working is /sqmail and that is because we did a seperate install from cpanel one so it's very hard to move that content over.

The bluetrix theme.
I'll see if I can switch themes, and get um, and then switch back or something.
That would be no big deal.
I like that theme the bestest.:D
edit: I just tried rvblue, and it doesn't work at all.
Bluietrix doesn't have anything on the auto, except phpbb, and adv guestbook.
The regular .."blueCP is the same as the bluetrix.
monsoon, and X are the same too...
I'm guessing they all are, except for the rv-skins, which don't work at all.:(

Any word on when the addon scripts will be up again?? Also... something weird happened with a database I have. Some of the information relies on timestamps, and apparently since the server was replaced the server clock has been off. Now all the times are 3 hours off. Anyone else have anything like that happen?

Has anyone heard from insiderhosting on what the problem is? Or as asked before what is the expected down time? We use this server for our business site, not a personal site, and the people at the office are going to kill me any minute now if email is not back.

I have contacted them but have not received an answer. If the staff is reading this PLEASE post something on the announcement board? Let us know what's going on and when it will be fixed so we can let our clients know?! I think this is a reasonable request - we're feeling abandoned...

Sorry guys as we were working very hard at resolving this issue. It was an overload, which turned into a filesystem issue since cobra has been up for a while.
That is what caused the downtime.

Hiya Steve,
I understand that everyone at InsiderHosting wrk very hard on these problems, but if you mind, I have a suggestion.
Would it be possible to move those accounts which are business & need to be up as much as poss, to be moved to another server(s) to keep their uptime higher, & put peoples personal websites on this server for the meantime, as there is less money losses for thoses people.
This idea is from a web designer that hosts mostly personal websites on this server, & a festival website, & would perfer thoses needing the uptime more than myself for personal websites.
Its just a thought, so you guys don't loss out of business due to the downtime of this server.

Hi Mike,
There will be many clients who will say that their site is a business site even if it is personal, so I'm not how far that idea would go. We're working on decommissioning cobra due to the problems it has had.
