Does anybody here have PHP Nuke installed?
Did you install it automatically through the cPanel? Have you upgraded it using www.phpnuke.com's releases? Or have you just waited for the upgrader ... upgrade :D, in the next cPanel release?
Lemme know your results? Thanks.

From past experience....never EVER use the auto-install for PHPNuke.....it's not at all difficult to manually install it.
I have it up and running on two main sites and help other people with their installs (on three other sites), so I am pretty familiar with it if you need some assistance.
I just upgraded on site from 6.9 to 7.1 (actually, 7.1 NSN) -- NukeScripts.net has a "modified" and "less bloated" version of the latest release. A ~2.5MB download, instead of a ~4.5MB download. They remove the docs, webmail module and a few other things.
The site I have 7.1 on is: http://wyrmhammyr.org and I also use it as a "test site" for new blocks and modules prior to implementing them at my main PHPNuke site: http://pctoolbin.com
If you need help or some links for blocks/modules, lemme know.......

Smacker's got rid of ezPortal :D. About damn time ;).
At least I think that's what that was... who knows :D.
So question then. Is it possible to just delete the current files (back up any pages we made), and upload the NSN 7.1 files, and have the database play nice?
Or, is there an SQL upgrade script they include?
Would this be an issue I should ask on NSN's forums? :P.

First off....yeah, ezPortal....yuck yuck PATOOEY! *grin*
Secondly, save your mySQL database of the site.....
Thirdly, you should be able to simply upload the new version (over the old), then run the SQL table update (import the SQL file)
Then, fourthly, they have update scripts which run depending on your current version....
That SHOULD work.
Otherwise, do as you desire, save your database, delete your files, upload the new files, populate the database with the current SQL tables (from the install) and then populate with your "old" data......give it a try on a "test" site first to make sure you aren't going to knacker something up.....
Enjoy! :guess
