I have someone that wants to access my domain that has his blog on it. It's a free blog hosting account, not a paid domain account.

How do I set one up so he can only see his folder?

Thanks!

make an ftp account for him in cpanel...

then advise him to download WS_FTP LE

then give him the info of the server...

his account 'name' will have to have the '@domain.com' in it though, took me about 3 minutes of trying to figure that part out :-/.

Hmmm...but how do you restrict the person to being able to only read/write to a specific directory? If you create a FTP account for someone I would assume they can access anything.

Thanks.

When you create an FTP account for someone, it also creates a directory under your domain (www.yourdomain.com/username) and they only have access to everything below that directory.

Go into your control panel and create an FTP. I used blogland.com so it was test@blogland.com Then, you log in under the FTP use the IP number the user name is test@blogland.com and the password.

They cannot see anything but their folder. Very cool! Yup, I tested it and it works.

Thanks for all the help!
